About Coach Kishlay

Kishlay Rai completed his first IRONMAN in 2018 while racing with a broken wrist. Since then, he has gone on to complete 17 full distance IRONMAN races, qualify twice for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona 2024 and Nice 2023, and earn AWA Gold Athlete status.

What truly sets his coaching apart, however, is the calibre of professionals he works with. From IAS officers and Naval commanders to surgeons and corporate executives, Kishlay coaches individuals who cannot afford inefficient training or generic plans.

Every athlete receives a personalised coaching approach built around real life, including work schedules, travel commitments, recovery, sleep, and race goals. Nothing is copied from a template. Every decision is made with purpose.

For working professionals who want to complete an IRONMAN without compromising career, health, or personal life, this is where the journey begins.

“I don’t train athletes who have nothing else to do. I train people who have everything going on — and still want to finish an IRONMAN.”— Kishlay Rai

FAQ

Questions Before You Book? Here Are the Answers.

How many hours per week does training require?
Most athletes train 8–12 hours per week. Kishlay will map your actual available hours before building your plan. If you have 6 hours, the plan is built around 6 hours. Quality and consistency matter more than volume.
I have never done a triathlon. Can I still work with Kishlay?
Yes. Several of Kishlay’s athletes started with no prior triathlon experience. If you can swim a few laps, ride a bicycle and walk or jog — you can start. The plan builds from wherever you are, not from where you think you should be.
Is this online coaching or in-person?
Both. Coaching plans are delivered online and work for athletes anywhere in India or abroad. In-person coaching and camps are available in Goa. Many athletes combine online monthly coaching with one or two in-person camp weekends per year.
What does coaching actually cost?
Pricing depends on your goal, race timeline and the level of support you need. A free 30-minute consultation call will give you an exact quote with no obligation to commit.
I work 50–60 hours a week. Is this realistic for me?
Three of Kishlay’s athletes are IAS officers with 60+ hour work weeks. One is a Naval Commander. Another is a surgeon. The coaching model is built specifically for people whose careers cannot be paused. The training adapts around your professional life — not the other way around.
What happens if I miss a week of training or travel for work?
Plans are adjusted in real time. You message Kishlay, he updates the plan. There is no penalty for missing a session. The goal is sustainable progress over months — one missed week does not derail a 24-week plan.
How far in advance should I start coaching before my race?
For a 70.3: minimum 16 weeks, ideally 24 weeks. For a Full IRONMAN: minimum 24 weeks, ideally 32–36 weeks. For beginners targeting their first sprint or Olympic distance: 12–16 weeks. The earlier you start, the better the result.
What if I decide coaching is not right for me after I start?
There are no lock-in contracts. You can cancel at the end of any month. Kishlay will also be honest with you during the free consultation if he believes coaching is not the right fit at this stage.
